I TOTALLY agree with your statment!!! Let's here it from a YA representative....because it is obvious that the outright lies are meant to stir up discontent by foreign terrorists on the internet. YA have got to screen these questions somehow.

any specific lies or accusations? is the only way to be patriotic to censor questions? what debate, there is no debate if a political question is asked and the ask-er does not like the reply then the answerer is called un-American. if a totally ridiculous question or statement is made most see it for what it is. some questions are asked by "the devils advocate" to promote thought but in stead of thought all you read is sarcasm. it is a real shame that some of this care and concern for debate and free exchange of ideas isn't followed up on in the real world. of course now since i have said my peace, i am an anti-American lib who wants us to fail in Iraq and kill all the unborn babies in the world

Uh, what are you talking about?
What terrorists on YA?
This isn't a debate site; it's a question and answer site.
Yahoo offers this free service for those who want to use it; they don't censor based on the views expressed (except as described in the Guidelines, which you may want to read).
It's an international, not an American site -- even though the company is based in the U.S.
There are way too many posts for Yahoo staff to read everything.
If you see violations of the Guidelines (advocating violence would be one, posting a question that isn't a question, is another), use Report It.
If you don't like an answer, give it a thumb down and give your view.

Agreed I would not call most / any terrorists. Some are very critical of American's. This Monday we had a slew of UK posters calling Americans stupid and so forth. Many attacking women. I am amazed at the world wide access we have now. And the amount of new accounts is over whelming. Check the profiles. And some bad dudes with attitudes too.
Wish I had an answer. I can only say I have watched it changed before my eyes rapidly. That and avitar's the likes of My Space or Match.com as many troll their days away. Thanks.

Funny that you posted this now as I was really getting irritated today about all the anti-American posts. It seems many are not really here for an honest debate but just to accuse and lie about America.
I had to walk away for a while today or I knew I'd end up with many violations.
EDIT: I saw this happen on the old news boards. It was a good place to hang out and have good (sometimes heated) but civil debates. Then the trolls started taking it over until they had to shut it down. Sad, it's now happening here.

Your assertion is way overblown. Number one, I doubt "foreign terrorists" are doing much to influence our young people. Number two, I think you give "terrorists" waayy too much credit - terrorists by definition are that way because they are weak and want to make a statement - they lack the means to really hurt a country. Number three, I think we can judge for ourselves on what is valid and not so valid information on the web.
And finally, I've seen way more false accusations and outright lies from alarmists and so-called "superpatriots" who want to squelch any differences of opinion from theirs as 'unpatriotic' and un-American than from so-called "terrorist sympathizers".

I have read articles about Islamic terrorist sympathizers posing as Americans. Trying to stir up discontent amongst people, and giving false facts about the war in Iraq, or trying to play off peoples' emotions by posing as war veterans that speak badly about the war, saying there is no progress and that the Iraqi's hate us, for example.

Foreign terrorists? I worry more about the leftist school teachers they are stuck with for hours each day. It's all I can do to teach them the truth about America after the socialists in the school system send them home full of liberal clap trap.

The liberals and the islamists are eerily similar.
I read this recently, you might find it interesting.
In the past few months, Islamists engaged in "media jihad" have increased their efforts to expose as broad a Western audience as possible to their jihad films, which purport to document the growing success of the mujahideen in Iraq and Afghanistan. As part of this endeavor, they have posted jihad films on popular free video-sharing websites such as YouTube, LiveLeak, and Google Video, hoping that such films will tip public opinion in the West against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan - thus pressuring Western governments to withdraw their troops from these countries.
As part of the campaign to foster anti-war sentiment among Westerners, and more specifically among Americans, a member of the Al-Mohajroon Islamist website with the username Al-Wathiq Billah instructed mujahideen in how to infiltrate popular American forums and to use them to distribute jihad films and spread disinformation about the war.
The following are excerpts: [1]
"Raiding American Forums is Among the Most Important Means of Obtaining Victory in the Fierce Media War… and of Influencing the Views of the Weak-Minded American"
"There is no doubt, my brothers, that raiding American forums is among the most important means of obtaining victory in the fierce media war... and of influencing the views of the weak-minded American who pays his taxes so they will go to the infidel American army. This American is an idiot and does not [even] know where Iraq is... [It is therefore] mandatory for every electronic mujahid [to engage in this raiding]."
"It is better that you raid non-political forums such as music forums and trivia forums... which American people... favor... Define your target[ed forum]... and get to know it well... Post your contribution and do not get into... futile arguments..."
Indicate You Are an American
"Obviously, you have to register yourself using a purely American name... Choose an icon that indicates that you are an American, and place it next to your nickname [in the forum]."
"In my experience, the areas most visited in American forums... [are titled] 'Random Thoughts' and 'What's going on in your mind?'... [The former] takes priority in the American forums, and is highly popular. You should post your contribution there... This should include films of the mujahideen in Iraq, mujahideen publications in English, and images and films of the Americans' crimes, [such as] killing unarmed civilians in Iraq... etc."
"Invent Stories About American Soldiers You Have [Allegedly] Personally Known"
"Obviously, you should post your contribution... as an American... You should correspond with visitors to this forum, [bringing to their attention] the frustrating situation of their troops in Iraq... You should invent stories about American soldiers you have [allegedly] personally known (as classmates... or members in a club who played baseball and tennis with you) who were drafted to Iraq and then committed suicide while in service by hanging or shooting themselves..."
"Also, write using a sad tone, and tell them that you feel sorry for your [female] neighbor or co-worker who became addicted to alcohol or drugs... because her poor fiancé, a former soldier in Iraq, was paralyzed or [because] his legs were amputated... [Use any story] which will break their spirits, oh brave fighter for the sake of God..."
How to Make Americans Feel Frustrated With Their Government
"You should enter into debate or respond only if it is extremely necessary... Your concern should [only] be introducing topics which... will cause [them to feel] frustration and anger towards their government..., which will... render them hostile to Bush... and his Republican Party and make them feel they must vote ton bring the troops back from Iraq as soon as possible."
"Do not... discuss issues pertaining to Arabs or Muslims at all, whether negatively or positively... because this could be a trap for you... In addition, do not ask people to circulate the material [you have posted] in other forums... as these types of requests will expose you..."
