.5 seconds is approximately 14 thousandths of 1% of one hour, or .00014 (.5 / 3600)

50km is 50,000 meters.

50,000 meters times .00014 = 7 meters

You would travel "blind" for approximately 7 meters

50km = 50000m
1/2 sec = 1hour / (60minutes x 60 seconds x 2 halves) = 7200

50000 / 7200 = 6.94m
