The name is Persephone (Περσεφόνη) /pərˈsɛfəniː/ - it is not /Pro-sef-on-ey/. There is a difference between per and pro. But that's not important, they mean the same. Just like you saying "she sure is pretty" means the same as your greatgrandpa's "she shur is purdy". In answer to your question ("so what do u think") I must say that I think every self-respecting author does his/her own research.
