Someone was telling me (over the phone through someone else) about someone I should listen to. I wanna say she said "Crotchet" or something. A girl. I'm assuming either pop or R&B. Any ideas?

Think its Jim Croce (pronounced Crow-chee)
He wrote and sang during the late 60's and early 70's.
