2050? Not likely. The youngest vets would have been born about 1928 if they were 17 while serving at the end of the war in 1945.

Vets in combat units will not live as long as those who were in support positions out of combat.

Combat vets, let's speculate 90 at time of death. Year 2018.
Non-combat vets, male, again about a maximum of 90 years old at the time of their death.
Non-combat vets, female, perhaps 97-100 years old at the time of their death, so the last veteran from that war will most likely die by 2020, but could be as late as 2030.

The war ended 62 years ago, and we should not forget that many young men lied about there age to sign up to defend their country, and may only have been 15, 16 or 17. It could conceivably be another 20 years or more before all those amazing veterans are deceased. The world will be less rich without them, for sure.

Your estimation of 2050 would have them living to an age of 120 or more.

Well, WWII ended in 1945, so a guy who was born in 1927 could have gone to war at 18 years old. In 2027, the guy is 100 years old. The oldest person(s) could live until 114, so like 2041. Medical advances could assist a person to live longer.
