I have table decorations, balloons, plates, banners, hats, cards....and lots of pictures. I was just going to put the pictures in an album and throw all the other stuff in a cute memory type box, but I want something a little neater & something I can show off. I'm not really artsy or creative, so I want something that'll be cute & simple & memorable.

P.S. We recently had someone break into our house & stole a box of baby clothes, and in it, was my daughter's baby book, which would have been completed for her 1st year. It had her first haircut, footprints, pictures from the hospital, hospital bracelets, lots of stuff in it. GONE! So I want to make something really special to make it up to her someday.

It's not hard, so I'd go for a scrapbook. They have some that are just a few pages long. You can find all the papers and mount the invitations, banners, hats, cards.

Visit Hobby Lobby, Michael's or JoAnn's.

Your local scrapbook store-or an online store-can sell you a half-sphere in whia you can place a lock of hair, maybe another treasure, backed with a favorite photo of your daughter. If you can't find something local, try Scrapbooking Moments in Time in South Buond Brook, NJ. They will either instruct you, or have you send the items and make it for you. Tell Pat Rex that Karen Van recommended you call her.

my favorite thing to do for my kid's birthdays is to do a cute printout for the cake topper. I just work something up in Power point that is related to the theme of the party, plus the name, and birthday # then I tape it to a popsicle stick and jam it into the cake. This replaces my shaky cake writing and (BONUS) it can be removed and kept in a scrapbook.

You could save wrapping paper from her presents and use it in the albums, as backgrounds for the pictures or little cutouts around the pictures.
