Torre will be a great find for any team. I was devastated at what the Steinbreners did by insulting him and making him prove himself. They can buy the players but without a manager as good as Torre they will not go anywhere.

I am starting a petition. My personal feeling is Joe should be the Comish of Baseball. He is Fair, even tempered and has the knowledge of the game we need in that office.

Torre is an ex-catcher. The only position in the game which has a complete view of the playing field. That's part of the reason for his successes thus far. But, if Joe gets to Chavez Ravine he needs to end the "Curse of the Sleeve". Ever since the Dodgers put that large "LA" on the left sleeve of the home jersey with the start of the 1997 season they haven't been to the World Series. Until that season the look of the Dodgers' home jersey hadn't changed since 1952.

Torre is a great manager, The Yankees lost allot by him leaving. But a funny note, Torre grew up in Brooklyn as a NY Giants fan, and it's funny the 2 New York teams (ok Dodgers are in LA but when he grew up they were still in Brooklyn) Torre will be a part of, were the 2 teams Giants fans hated more than anything.

But good luck to Joe, we will miss him.

Eh, I'm not so sure. Torre is 70. He ought to take his awards and relax. He was unremarkable until he got the Yankee job. There he displayed his best talent: getting movie star players to play together. But still, not a remarkable strategist. Face it, with the American League All-Star team, Jr., Britney Hilton could have won a couple of divisions.

If he goes to LA, he will probably show his weaknesses. I guess he'll go, but maybe that's not such a great idea.

Torre is a great manager, I believed he's proven himself of that going to the playoffs 12 straight seasons, winning four world championships, 6 Pennants and 9 AL East titles.

However, i don't believe that his whole staff is going to go with him. So far, Mattingly seems the only one of his coaches to even show interest in heading to L.A. with him.

Would it be helpfull to the Dodgers? Absolutly, is it going to bring a Championship to L.A.? Not anytime soon.

Well thats what your going to get, all signs point to Torre in Dodger Blue... The big question is will that help get A-Rod there... Also i think Andy Petitte would be a good dodgers signing...

It has the potential to be a very nice situation, filling many of the question marks left by the Dodgers last season

It looks like the dodgers will get Torre, Mattingly, Bowa, and possibly the hitting coach. Torre also wants posada and riviera
