The most obvious result is that aquatic ecosystems would crash. Algae are protists, and algae are the primary producers in oceans as well as many other aquatic ecosystems.

Slime molds are protists that are responsible for decomposition in many ecosystems.

Protozoa are important parts of food chains.

Protists are at the bottom of the food chain. If they all died out, the food chain or more largely the food web, would completely collapse. So the end result would be.... this world would end up like mars.
