What I can say about this is not all the time monologues from plays and movies are the same. As we know, you have to act authentically in movies unlike in plays where it's unnatural and cartoony. There is a great variation when acting in theater and movies.

It also matters what kind of movie you are auditioning for. You have to consider this because some movies are based on plays just like Hairspray. So in this kinds of movies, a monologue from a theater play will work.

Now if you think that the piece that you have is realistic enough to be acted in a real movie, I would say that use it for the audition. If not, use something that's also from a movie.

Huh? I never heard of an audition for extra work, it is usually done by look only. Use the same one. You sure you are not walking into a scam? Who is holding this audition anyway? Do write and tell me, I would hate to see you cheated by someone.
