Very heavy makeup, crying onscreen, and co-host of the PTL (Praise The Lord) television show with her husband Jim Bakker. Initially, from what I understand, she was really serious about ministry and wanted to help people. But it seems that somewhere along the line things changed. I lost track of her so I'm not sure what happened after she left PTL. I don't know if she was part of the scandal that surrounded PTL (embezzling funds). She always seemed so sad. I hope that she had some sort of happiness before she died.

She was married to Jim Baker of The PTL Club (Praise the Lord). He embezzled a lot of money, slept with Jessica Hahn.

Tammy Faye wore make-up to make a raccoon blush. She cried a lot on TV, asking for money.

She became a sweet lady, before she died of cancer.

She was the wife of a disgraced evangelist who cried, and because she wore enormous fake eyelashes coated in far too much mascara, she was known for sobbing while the mascara ran down her cheeks in rivers. Then she was on a reality show a few years ago. I don't know the name of it, but it was something on which a bunch of b-list celebrities had to share a house.

I'm going to over-answer this but I feel it needs to be said. She did wear an awful lot of makeup but she was so well known for her work spreading the Word of God. Even when she was on the Surreal Life, she was even loved and respected by Ron Jeremy, the porn star, and all of her co-stars who were on there with her. They went with her to a book signing and to see her speak and Tracy Bingham and the playboy model (I forgot her name) were standing there crying listening to her. She touched them that much. So all you naysayers can say what you want. It's not what's on the outside by what's on the inside that matters and she was a wonderful person. What better characteristic could a person have?

She and her husband were popular television Christian Evangelists. Her husband got caught cheating and she cried a lot on the air. She also wined a lot when the preached.
She wore a huge amount of makeup and became a character because she looked like a clown.

The two things she was most know for were that she wore very heavy makeup and that scandal that her and her ex husband Jim Baker were involved in where they were keeping and spending tons of their follower's money when they had their ministry.

She always cried about anything and it made her mascara run down her face on TV for the world to see on the PTL club.
She ripped off millions of dollars from those who believed her line of crap.
She was very ugly.
She should have gone to jail but bought her way out of it.

She was known for flashy make up, crying, preaching and being the wife of a fallen televangelist. She was brave at the end though, and I was sad to see her in that kind of shape.
