Been there, done that. Candles are a farce and waste of time. Go to out patient center or ear doctor and have them wash your ear out. They use a stream of water, like a water pik, and it is painless and takes about 10 minutes. You will hear like new.

I used to have alot of wax, so i started cleaning my ears every day with q-tips. After a while, i actually was able to hear a whistling sound in my ear when i titled my head, every time. this got so annoying. I stopped cleaning my ears, and after a long period of time, the sound went away.
Basically, I think you should leave your ear wax the way it is. Ear wax is there for a purpose, mainly because of past generations which needed the extra ear wax to keep sand and other things blocked out.

Believe it or Not is what Ripely's slogan is, suprisingly, you shouldn't remove the ear wax at all. You should actually let it fall out of the ear on its own. By putting a q-tip in the ear, it actually pushes the wax back inside of the ear.

Its not a candle, its called 'coning.' Its a paper cone with wax or something on it. It does remove a bunch of wax, but I don't reccommend it. Wax is beneficial to your ears. if you have wax buildup that you're concerned about, see a doc. These people who perform coning on you usually have no medical experience at all.

If you go to a ear, nose and throat specialist (your doctor can refer you) they will be able to drain your ears. I'd also recommend having your hearing tested as well.

I was told that ear candling works. You can purchase them at a health food store. It is also good for an ear ache.

I bought some drops from the drug store and they worked great. For a couple of years my hearing got worse and worse and is now fine. Ask your druggist for advise.
