The user "Siddhartha Basu" posted four consecutive questions and in all of them gave the best answer to "Goutam", even though Goutam was never first with the correct answer, and often gave fewer details than other answerers. For example, in this case, Goutam just put one number:

In this case he copied my answer verbatim:

This also happened in two other cases (which you can find by looking at either "Siddhartha Basu" or "Goutam"'s profiles.

Has this happened to others? What is the proper way to address this?

I do not know if it should, but this kind of thing really bugs me, and makes me much less inclined to take my time to type out explanations to questions.

Thanks for your advice!

haha.. i looked at his profile... he did not even hide the fact...

forget him.. not worth your trouble... let us just stay away from him...

ann is right... i will also block them... to remind myself...

Edit:
I have a feeling: the user "Basu" = user "Goutam"
(Haha.. i also saw another user do that gimmick...)
If he likes to have his Yahoo Answers profile compromised... its his choice... It doesn't look good if he has a high level but low knowledge... He could have just earned that on Polls... lol. §

But I believe ... there is still much to be learned even in Yahoo Answers... I do... I picked so many things here... even a summation skill from professorbundles..

So we can just enrich ourselves by developing our knowledge and leave those people to themselves...

I had to block Mr S because of a verbatim copy. After i flagged Mr S he started to change the wording of his answer. Mr S even managed to put the earliest time on his answer even tho two of us answered before him. I think that
Yahoo is very lax about this kind of stuff. Hey, it bugs me too.

Yes, I hate this too. It's obvious collusion.

As a start, block both of them. It's a waste of time to deal with either of them.

It does look like he copied your answer which is against the guidelines so you can report him. I have blocked both users and you can do the same.

I read Goulam's answer, and his answer was more concise than yours. He didn't need to use the word "now". So maybe Siddhartha Basu prizes brevity of answers? Will you please give me 10 points for this answer?

Have you referred this to the Yahoo secret police?

-you could report him
-you could block both names so you remember not to deal with him

pathetic, isn't it?
