DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT buy any cigars from the hotel staff, the pool boys, a beach guy.
Buy only at one of the government stores or a store at one of the hotels.
That way you know you are getting the real thing,
The airports all have government stores in them.
I bought 25 Monte Cristos #4 at the Varadero airport and if I remember correctly it was equivalent $90 US two years ago.
You light up the real thing and you have a real smoking experience.
US money is out of favour in Cuba these days.
Being a Canadian I took canadian dollars and it was readily accepted.

thus far as the variety you smoke them, Cubans are actually not any distinctive from the different stogie. I smoked 2 Cubans in Jamaica -- a Cohiba and a smaller Romeo y Julieta. merely take your cutter and do away with the cap. make advantageous to no longer decrease too extreme considering which you will tear the wrapper leaf and all hell will take place. carry the enterprise end of the cigar over the flame of a timber experience or butane lighter devoid of unquestionably touching the tobacco to the flame. enable it get singed in the past puffing gently on the cigar. Draw sharply with your cheeks if the cherry would not variety good and initiate taking area in. you're completed with the cigar whilst smoking ceases to be relaxing for you. additionally, by no ability stub a cigar out. merely place it in an ashtray and permit it to burn out. chuffed smoking!

Cohibas are really good cigars, only the finest tobacco is used for making them, best place to get cigars in Cuba is at the cigar factory in Havana or at the airport on the way out, the currency is still peso's and you can still take sterling with you, no American dollars though, they won't accept them now.
