Is there an echo in here? :)
I believe in things that give me reason to believe in them. In other words, if I can observe something and that something is part of the reality of this world (i.e. is *real*) then I am comfortable assuming it exists. I have never had an experience that can't be explained by our current understanding of the universe and its laws.
I have seen the show that features TAPS. While they aren't the worst paranormal investigators out there, I am of the opinion they use methods that aren't completely sound. For example, they appear to believe in EVPs, ghosts and other things that have not been established as real, legitimate phenomena.

If you really enjoy the paranormal then I would suggest that you read the COMPLETE BOOKS OF CHARLES FORT. Mr. Fort was the 20th century's lead paranormal investigator. His research was done in a series of 4 books which were later put together in the COMPLETE BOOKS OF... If ghosts is what your into then look up the author Han Holzer. If monsters are your thing then look to John Keel or Bernard Heuvelmans. Looking for UFOs then Kelly D. Bell is the author you need to read. Just the plain strange then certain books in the Ripley's Believe it or not! series is for you. An Exorcist Tell His Tale by Fr. Gabriele Amorth is a great read as well for fans of the religious type paranormal. Happy reading.

To start off with, I love Ghost Hunters and TAPS. I was actually the kid who never believed in ghosts. Sure, I had heard stories that sounded convincing, but never fully believed it. It was actually Ghost Hunters that helped me believe. I don't know if I believe in ghosts exactly, but I do believe in paranormal activity now that I've gotten hooked on Ghost Hunters.

HOWDY!
I believed in the paranormal, invested in about $400 worth of ghost gadgets to detect ghosts, went on ghost hunts, picked up what could be EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) but I have concluded that there are no haunted places....just haunted people. Apparitions or visual encounters with ghosts are clearly psychological in light of the fact that we now have tons of video footage taken the the worlds most haunted locations which have captured absolutely nothing. The "haunted" TV shows never encounter a recordable image of a ghost. They just hear knocking and show people being frightened by their imaginations. Don't you find it strange that most people who allegedly encounter a ghost do so visually, yet with all our security cameras and other video sources they are never captured convincingly on video? Isn't it strange that all the "haunted" TV shows investigate "sightings" of ghosts but never capture anything visually? It's odd that when these guys investigate, the alleged "visual" phenomena suddenly gets reduced to non-visual audible phenomena. How convenient.
Also consider the fact that almost all ghost encounters take place at night by people in their beds who have been sleeping/dreaming and clearly not when they're the most alert. Dreams often depict people who have passed on as living, so waking from one of these in a groggy state would certainly be confusing and give the impression that we have just been visited by a deceased individual.
Oh, and did I mention that Sylvia Browne is a fraud (and has been sued as such - look it up.) and she is full of crap?
