You shouldn't cheat. You can ask someone to help you a rectanglular area problem, bu you shouldn't have others do your take home test. I am sure that is against your school's honor code.

Let length be L.
Let width be 3.5w

The area is:
A = L * 3.5w = 70

Now just solve in terms of L:
L * 3.5w = 70

Divide both sides by 3.5w
L = 70 / 3.5w
L = 20 / w

There's your answer.
