As long as paint is not toxic, there should not be too much problem for our air and water. Paint that require turpentine (paint thinner) or contain led is harmful for our atmosphere especially our water. toxic paint can contribute to pollution. If you think of the amount of buildings and vehicles etc. that are painted can indeed contribute to pollution.
