My toolbar (the one that's at the bottom of the screen with the computer clock on it) takes forever to load. How do I remove some of the icons from it so that it loads faster? Like I want to remove the quick time, real player and launch outlook express icons that are down there. But I still want to be able to use quick time and real player tho, so I don't want them to be completely disabled or uninstalled from my computer. I still have the icons I mentioned on my desktop and I do want them still on my desktop, but I just don't want them to load or appear on my toolbar. I hope that wasn't confusing? Can anyone give me instructions on how to get them off the toolbar?

I got you gurl. Follow the instruction on this website. It will tell you to go to a StartUp Menu and remove these things you dont want to load when you turn on the computer. They will remain in your programs list so you can open them manually when needed.

Click on your start button, click on Run. In the run window, type in msconfig and hit the Ok button. When that window pops up, click on the tab at the far right called "Startup". In that window you will see all the programs that will start every time that you start your system. Go through the list and uncheck anything that you don't want loading at start up.

Be careful though, if you don't understand what it is that you are reading, try making the center section wider so that you can see what program launches it. And if you still don't understand, you can always do a google search on that name and see what it pertains to.

Basically, you can go in there and uncheck the ones that you know are loading, and that you don't want to load until you need them. It won't remove them from your system, just from the start up when you power up your machine.

Good Luck!

(Windows XP)?? In the start menu click Run, then type msconfig and click OK. You will see a startup tab. Uncheck anything that you do not want to start up when your computer boots.
