Whale experts! How come whale's do not range in the Mediterranean area of the world? What stops them?

This has nothing to do with the Bible. I'm asking it for pure scientific reasons. I looked at a whale range and saw that only the Sperm whale enters the Mediterranean area. What is it about these waters that keeps other whales away?

Probably the food supply, and that's probably mostly the water temperature and ocean current flow. Bodies of water which are mostly landlocked tend to get warmer, and aren't refreshed by major ocean currents.
