How do you know who touches your soul?

Question

You have friends and family that you love.
How do you know if they touch your soul or if they are just friends?
How do you know if your family is that connected to you?

You just know... it's hard to explain.
You would drop everything you were doing no matter how important to help them in time of need.
When they hurt, you hurt.
When you can look at them even if they're smiling and acting fine, and still know something is bugging them.
When you're together it's like nothing else matters....
You can act as stupid as possible and say things you'd never say with anyone else, act extremely immature, or what have you, and not be the slightest bit embarrassed.
When you can just be with that person, not saying a word, but walk away feeling like you've had the best conversation.
When you know somethings wrong with them even if you're talking over the computer and their acting normal.
It's like a sixth sense, maybe even slight empathy, you know how they feel just by being near them or seeing them.
When you're with them you feel safe, like no matter how screwed up things are it will be okay because they are there for you.

When it happens you will know.
It happend to me, but I screwed it up and it kills me.
I'm currently trying to mend that relationship.
I'm nowhere near connected like that with my family, and never will be.
There is only 1 person I've ever been this way with, I think it's rare to find someone who touches you soul.
...but once you do find them, you never want to loose them.

That is up to the individuals situation. I trust and love my mother who is 84 years old. I can feel that connection very strong, for I am of her soul. Friends on the other hand can always be there with a knife to plunge into your soul. When you feel that strong connection you will know if it is real. This is a really hard topic to explain.

True friends and family will be there for you no matter what. They won't crap on you and give 'till it hurts if need be. And, you would do the same for them. That is true friendship and family!

These are the types that touch your soul! If they flake out on you a lot, they probably are not caring enough to be called your friend.

This question is difficult but when someone touches your soul they leave a foot print on your heart. They never leave you completely no matter where they are. Even if they have passed on. You feel their presence the love is still there in your heart. I lost my own mother the day before my 19th birthday she was only 37, she had just had her own birthday 17 days before that, she is on my soul, I was rubbing my best friends feet as I watched him slowly slip from his earthly body to heaven as the cancer took him from us, he is in my soul, my beautiful mother-in-law who was so precious and trusted me with all her secrets and how she wanted her things divided when she passed she did not share that with any of her children only me and she too is in my soul. My beloved pet my heart and my soul my Nacona he is there too and he will be that one that walks me across the bridge into heaven to meet the others that are there waiting. You have yours in your soul and I am sure you know who they are...

Sometimes they are and maybe at times they aren't. My sister and I were the closest. Then time went by, marriages, children and we grew apart. It isn't always the same as time goes by. I find that the people that I can talk to forever and not feel like I have spent any time with them are the ones that I am connected to. At times it's a friend, at times it's family and at times it's nobody. It is a gift that is for sure.

You can tell. My brothers and I never just call to talk. I know the one my soul is in touch with because I still wonder about him and care if he's happy. We had a huge connection and lost each other through distance. I know he thinks about me, too. That's how I know.

If you can't feel it,

But you'll know when it does,
it's all tingly and sometimes

Since the soul is the body, it would be easy for me to know when someone touches me, especially if they tickle me.
