Axle stands will be the best bet being adjustable. I would not support at the axle but on the frame. This will allow your suspension to hang to relieve some spring pressure.

Place the car on jack stands, with the wheels off the ground.

Jack stands under the axles so that the tires are off the ground. That'll teach you to live in a hostile winter environment. Here in God's country we get to drive our Ponys all year long. lol
