Is it good idea to be an ambidextrous before going into med school?

Is it okay to write with the left and be dominant with the right?

No of course, not, where did you get such a ridiculous notion? All you would need is a stellar memory, efficient and proficient reading skills and a lot of patience. Oh and money helps too.

I don't really see a major inportence of being ambidextrous before going into med. school. And for the second question, I'm a righty when it comes to writing but with other things I'm lefty, this is also the way my dad is. It's not that odd to write with the left and be dominant with the right...at least not in my mind.

Haha, im a med student and by no means am I or any of my friends ambidextrous. I know for dental school interviews you need to take along something that shows you are good with your hands.. (like needlework, art, cakemaking etc etc) but its by no means required or even hinted at as a thing to get you into med school. While you're there though, practicing on cadavers, bananas etc will help your hand-eye coordination (although even as a surgeon, you dont really need to be equally strong with both hands)

No, Doctors do not need to be naturally ambidextrous. Doctors train long hours to get both hands skilled at performing the actions needed.
