I don't like or chew gum...and I think it is gross to watch someone chewing gum like a mindless cow chewing its cud!

Then when these cud chewers get finished chewing they spit it out where I step on it and string it along where ever I walk and it is hard to get out of the soles of my tennis shows.

So to me it causes more stress and the only concentration I get is from digging it out of my shoes with a knife or screwdriver, and to be around someone who has or is chewing gum believe me their breath is not fresh it stinks like old gum....

Now I know a lot of you will give me thumbs down because you chew gum....but if you really stop and think about it you may actually agree with me....

I think it can help relieve stress and freshen your breath but i don't think it helps you concentrate because you are thinking about chewing the gum instead of something else.

When you're stressed you tend to clinche your jaw and so to chew gum it helps you losen up that tenson in your jaw and relieve your stress. And if your stressed while trying to concentrate then because your relieve your stress it is easier for you to concentrate. Its one long cycle i think

My husband is chewing gum all day long, he says it really makes all his stress go away, me I don't like it, after thirty minutes my jaw hurts.

No, because after a while my jaw starts to hurt and gum always losses its flavor. I am more relaxed when sucking on hard and minty candy. But it doesn't approve my concentration because I'm thinking of the flavor and devouring the substance.

Help me concentrate? Yea, on chewing.

Relieve stress? Not in my jaw!

Freshen breath? Only if it's the right kind of gum.

Sorry, but I think maybe I chewed too much in H.S. when we weren't supposed to!
