My husband was 39 when we got married, and I was 32, first marriage for both of us. I really did not think about happening or not, and neither did my husband. WE looked at it as we were lucky to find each other, but if we had not, we would have been ok with that to. My life was good before marriage and it's still good now. Getting married added a new dimension to an already good life for both of us. I think the older you are, and more established you are as an individual, the better the relationship when you find someone that meshes with you so well.

more people get married later in life than you think
and for good reason
the longer you delay
the better your chances of success
younger couples tend to be self oriented and selfish
witness the high rates of divorce for those under 35
for those who chose wisely to wait it out
and firmly establish their careers, their education, their credit and finances as well as their maturity, they reap the rewards of a far more stable marriage then those who do not
to them they do not think it would ever happen
they know ( men at least ) it would, but the natural filter process of weeding out the undesirables takes a bit of time and narrowing of what you want and do not want in a partner

First and only time when I was 37. We'd been together eight years by then, and I'd been ready for a long time, but she was hesitant and I didn't belabor the point.

I'd resigned myself to a life alone -- which didn't bother me -- when she showed up. Funny how that worked out.

there's lots of people married later in their lives simply because they think its the right time.. when your 35 years of age of course you really know what you want in life and probably had an stable job and save a money enough to have a family... and of course it would happen..
