i would definately suggest acting classes. are you talking about acting as in theater or tv? if it is for tv, i would find classes to take that deal specifically with that kind of acting. it will probably he harder to find but it will probably help a lot. i cant say for certain that it is better than theater classes though. i think it depends on where you are taking them. but it will probably be a lot more helpful with understanding the business. dont get me wrong though- do plays and what ever else you want too!
good luck

It all depends on how young you are. If your 18+ years old and have finished high school then you could move to a major city like Los Angeles or New York and work your way from the ground up. If you are younger than 18 years old then talk to your parents about this. Tell them that you want to become an actress and explain why. try to convince them to move to one of those major cities. (If you don't live there already) Now if you live there or end up moving there you can then start to work from the ground up. If you don't covince them try finding some plays in the area or school productions. you could even look for a local comercials too. In the end when you finish high school you would have already started building your resume and then you can move to a major city and keep acting there.
To get an agent or manager look in the yellow pages or on the internet for one in your area. Remember to be skepical about some companies they could be fake.

Yep. be in all the school, church and community plays you can. If by the time you are an upperclassman in high school, you are not getting lead roles or good supporting roles, find something else to do.

If your school has a drama department, audition for as many roles that are right for you.
