I don't know what to major in college, but I really want to major in a field of study that is underrepresented by minority women, especially by Latinas. Any suggestions?

According to your criterion, my recommendation would be anything excluding:

Latin Studies (Literature, Linguistic and so forth)
Ethnic Studies
Sociology
Cross-Cultural studies
International Studies

But, above all of these, I'd like you not to care where you are from or what your ethnicity is when choosing a major in a college education.

Those students who enter into college education are well-educated enough to disregard the ethnic class distinctions and differentiation based on ethnicities. Native American students can major in Latin Studies just like Latin students can study whatever they would want to learn and are interested in.

I just hope that you firstly consider what is that you really want to learn study and pursue in your future, and what you are most interested in regardless of whether you are majority or minority, or what group you belong.

I hope I heard your mind correctly, Good Luck.

I hope that you are not deciding your major on this factor. There are not a lot of Latinas in many fields bc there are not of Latinas in college. While the amount of African Americans in college have steadily risen (mostly women), this is just not the case for Hispanics. So you should major in what you think that you will perform the strongest in bc Hispanics are needed in all fields of work.

To answer your question mathematics and the sciences would be the least represented. However, I really feel that we need strong Latino leadership in the government. Especially with the hostility towards immigrants and the fact that Hispanics are going to be a large part of the American population in the future.

I don't know for sure, but I would guess that the physical sciences might be among those in which Latinas are least represented, especially things like physics.

Engineering, most definitely--there are very few women, including Latinos, majoring in engineering.
