It does suck, but from hearing his reason's for leaving, it's as if he doesn't know if some of the off-season moves will leave certain players or not for "his" team as it was put. Sorry, no one player is bigger than the team... especially the Yanks! If it's anyone's team, it' still Jeter's.
I welcome the absence of his distractions anyway.

yeah if you're a yankee fan. Arod is the fastest player to hit 500 homers and he is paid outrageous money for a reason. New York is perhaps the hardest place to play in the majors... the pressure had to have been unbearable for Arod. If he keeps on putting up numbers like he has throughout his career, Cooperstown will be ready.
