I say it's better and not better than the other six at the same time. It's better cause the series is over and all of the loose ends are tied up and we finally know the answer to some seriesually burning questions. It's worse cause I feel as if the characters lost a little of their original personalities.

By finishing the story and tying up the loose ends, it was completed the other six books. Not to say it didn't have its flaws. The insistence to hold to a full school year format weakened the book. She could have shortened the book by 150 pages or so by redacting the middle of the book "On the run in the Wilderness" (Watch for a drastic shortening when DH come out as a movie).

I know that some people did not like "King's Cross", as a literary device, but I thought it was necessary so Harry came to terms with Dumbledore.

My favorite book is still GoF, but DH is tied for second with PoA.

I have a love-hate reaction to this one.

I loved it because it shows how much planning JKR had done right from the first book. The story tied up really well, and the entire adventure was a great, compelling read.

I think it fell short of my expectations, especially one some of the editing work - the journey through the forest could have been shorter, the diadem in the room of requirement was really stupid, Voldemort's unexplained ability to fly.

I think the editing has never been a strong point of the HP series, but book 7 was way worse than the first 6.

Of course not. That 'book' was not even close to my expectations. I'm sorry, but I think it was the worst of the HP series. The deaths didn't even make me cry.....except for when Tonks and Remus died cause they were awesome. I was pissed when she killed them and she didn't even give them a respectable death. She really didn't give ANYONE a respectable death. I believe she could written the book much better than she had and it was a sad way to see the series end.

PEACE.
