i was told that my car need to replace the steering shaft. But in the warranty book, the drive shaft is still under warranty. just wondering if it mean the same thing?

2 different things.Drive shaft connects the transmission to the drive axle.Steering shaft connects the steering wheel to the steering gear and turns the wheels left and right.

The steering shaft is what goes through the floor, and the steering wheel fits on it. The drive shaft is what runs from your rear end to the transmission, under the car.

no they are not the same,not remotely close,the drive shaft runs between the transmission and the differential,the steering shaft is what the steering wheel mounts to and runs to the steering gear box

No it is not the same. The driveshaft is a componet of a rearwheel drive car/truck. The driveshaft comes out of the
rear of the transmission at the tail shaft. Connects the trans-mission to the rearend to drive the rear wheels. Noww to carry this further a driveshaft also connects the transfercase in a 4X4 to the front system. A lever or a button is located
inside the vehicle to operate the 4x4 system. I hope i have helped you out.

no it isn't the same. The drive shaft connects the transmission to the rear end. the steeting shaft would be from the steering wheel to the power steering box.

No. The drive shaft transmits torque from the transmission to a final drive unit like a front or rear differential.
