When you have a repeat, put it over the same number of 9s. So in your case you have a repeat of two digits.

3.27 is equivalent to 3 27/99.

Now you can reduce the fraction:
3 3/11

Finally make it an improper fraction:
36/11

Double-check by calculating 36/11 on your calculator.

3.272727... = 3 + 27/99
= 3 + 3/11
= 36/11.

In general, if you have a repeating decimal, you take the repeating part over as many 9s as there are in the repeating part: e.g. 0.156715671567... = 1567/9999. Then simplify if possible.

If it doesn't start to repeat straight away, add as many zeros to the denominator as there are decimal places before it starts to repeat:
2.16575757... = 2.16 + 57/9900
= 2 + 16/100 + 19/3300
= 2 + 528/3300 + 19/3300
= 2 + 547/3300
= 7147/3300.

you put a bar over 27 to indicate the repitition
you could round it off to get a decimal
you could express it as a fraction ( scientific calculator)
or you can express it as a square root thats the best way but i'd need the original answer you had
