No, most of the time if you have roaches it could be the area you live in, or have small cracks in your home where they can enter.

Not necessarily. Most people give themselves roaches from cardboard boxes or paper sacks from any store. The roaches come from eggs laid in the cardboard or even actual small roaches in the cardboard. Just get yourself a roach bait right away and kill any roach you get a chance to. Also, throw away the paper sacks and any cardboard boxes you have laying around.

It also does help to prevent roaches if there isn't a food source hanging around. Dirty houses(cluttered) aren't a roach draw but dirty with food and garbage laying around will give you roaches every time

At some point your house had enough food lying around to support a colony of roaches. Now, they're still there looking for the food. Clean your house then put out a bunch of roach motels.

Roaches love dark damp places. They can get into your house by several means. Many get brought in with groceries.
Keeping your garbage emptied and not leaving dirty dishes overnight will help a great deal.
A good cheap product to use beneath sinks, pantry floors, carpets, is Borax powder. Safe for kids and pets. Kills bacteria that causes odors in carpets and kills fleas too!
Roach infestations can be difficult to control in multifamily buildings. If that is the case, the landlord or association has to get involved in treating ALL units.

its warm in your home ..they try to get out of the cold and also your home may or may not be dirty but for those of you who believe that you have roaches only b/c ur house is dirty then you are sadly informed. they come in even if your neighbor is dirty too! also if you go to someones elses home where they are you could carry them into your home. and thats all i can think of right now. best of luck! call an exterminator!!! God Bless!

Could be. Bugs do seem to appear where there is filth. If your homes not dirty, it could just be that you got something that had roach eggs in it. Cardboard boxes are good for that. Call an exterminator.

Dirty isn't always the issue. If you have a dark, damp and cool area in your home, say a basement, and there is access to food, roaches may be attracted. Contact a pest control company who can fumigate ( safe for humans).

First you have to make sure they are true roaches, and not the big palmetto or waterbugs. They are different in size, but look the same otherwise.

Basically roaches, CAN BE attracted to papers, bags, things in storage, food, etc... if youre in an area where other places are infested where these things, they could have been disturbed and ran to your place for refuge.

Waterbugs, palmettos? They are attracted to cool, moist places.....

Good Luck!

Cockroaches come in several varieties. They come in for several reasons as well.

The litle clearish cockroaches are German cockroaches. They come in for food and to cohabitate with you. If you find one of these, then bring out the army. You need to go to battle.

If on the other hand you have the large red ones, they are asian cockroaches. They are commonly referred to as flying cockroaches. Most of the time they come in on your clothing or your pet. They will generally die within 4 days without access to the outside. These ones mean no big deal. Just get out the shoes and smash the one you see.

You know if you leave out food you are inviting the critters in. The most common one that people miss is the toaster. The crumbs are really an easy catch for the bugs.

I live in Florida and the house is sprayed monthly and I still get the asian ones in here. It is inevitable. I also lived in Arizona and fought off the german ones when I first moved into an apartment. I found that the previous tenant really just swept the crumbs under the dishwasher and stove. Until I really got under there and got rid of the crumbs they hung around. (It took me about 2 weeks to find it all.)

May your quest to remove the critters go well with you.

you dont necessarily have to be dirty. they have probably been chased out of your neighbors house by their exterminating. in that case, its getting cold out and they need somewhere warm where there is food and water. if they can get into your house, BOOM !

why dont you go to the grocers or the hardware store and get a bomb. most of them look like sealed plastic cups. you peel off the lid, add water, put the cup in the middle of the room (all doors and windows closed, closets and drawers open). be sure to LEAVE the house and take all pets with you or the fumes might kill you too. then when you come back about two hours later, everything in there will be killed.
