Excuse me? The blame-game and denying all responsibility is the Conservative way of life. Clinton gets blamed for everything except the catastrophic impact of the asteroid that drove the dinosaurs to extinction even though when he left office America was more admired and respected than at any time since WWII; the government had a surplus of money; and the American people were safer and more secure than they are today.

Recent reports by both the Department of State and a consensus of America’s 16 Intelligence Agencies both conclude that terror attacks have increased in number and severity, and that Americans are less secure than they were before 9/11. Our military is strained, exhausted, and demoralized; our economy is tanking; and—as a nation—America is more disliked and mistrusted than at any time in its history.

The American Middle Class will continue to appear intact for awhile; however, Bush has gutted it and it will be difficult for working Americans to ever again achieve the prosperity they have enjoyed for the last 70 years. They may hold onto their lifestyle temporarily, but they will not have the resources to educate and raise their children with the same high standards Americans have become accustomed to.

Americans already work harder and have less to show for it than the majority of the world’s developed nations, and this disparity is only going to worsen over time. The political/religious right has not only sold out the Americans of today, but if they succeed in having science replaced by the mythological beliefs of quasi-historic Semitic tribes of illiterate goat herders in our public schools, future Americans will be doomed to lives of ignorance and will be economically exploited both at home and abroad.

America may never recover from the harm done to it by the Bush Administration. Bush may prove, historically, to be the political-asteroid that leads to America’s own extinction.

Encouraging the shrinking of the middle class is a true cons wet dream come true.

The whole group of those who are keeping their heads above water financially have way too much time on their hands anyway. When the worries of keeping a roof over their families heads, and that pesky need to keep them fed and healthy ceases to consume all their time, they just start sticking their noses into the business of governing.

I think the leadership of the GOP and the Religious Right would love to see the majority of citizens barefoot and pregnant and too exhausted to care.

There will still be a middle class, but it will be much, much smaller. Some will have taken advantage of Bush's policy to make it to the upper class. Most will have fallen to around the poverty line as their lines of credit wither up and die.

Our economy is kept in superpower status due to many factors. But if you are talking in terms of currency strength our dollars is nearing a third world status.

The stock market is at all time high, the unemployment rate is at an all time low.

The only issue is that people where not smart by taking out variable rate home loans. They got suckered into buying homes the could not afford because the mortgage payments started low. Now that they are rising they can not pay their bills.

Sure, the middle class will still be around. You will be able to distinguish them by their pockets turned inside out.

Middle class? You're looking at it!

It will pass as soon as deficit spending passes. Reduce the deficit and the dollar recovers.

For one thing, Jimmy Carter. Also, the cost of the dollar is going down, because American companies aren't selling stuff to other countries because no one buys it because the other countries give us high tariffs and they have a lot of American dollars, but they have nothing to buy with the America Dollars so it causes the value of the dollar to go down in the world market.
