it's actually 2.7 lbs with the battery in it. still light. yeah it's a rip off if u just look at the specs. but the price comes from the style and the light weight. i'm just gonna use it to watch online videos, homework, e-mail. youtube. dvd watching.. no gaming. so yeah.

I think it looks good. I have seen many people with the VAIO. So it must be a good notebook. I would see about getting the wireless Internet thing installed. I would check into that, I ended up getting a wireless card/adapter for my lap top and used it a lot with school, we had wireless access on campus and it was so good. I think it sounds good, 2.5 pounds is good to. My old Toshiba Satellite was like 3 or 5 pounds. So the idea of a 2.5 pound notebook is the way to go. Just make sure you do not leave your notebook plugged up all the time it will damage the battery. I like that it has extended battery life, that's a plus. I have Vista on my new desk top that's a HP, and I have no problems with it. The question is what all will you be using it for? I mean some programs like architecture programs take up a lot of room and a lot to run. Some computers are better for games than others if you like playing games on yours. So I would do a little research on that. If you are just going to be using it for internet and like writing papers, letters and so on then I know this will be fine. What about a CD, DVD burner, does it have that and CD writable drive? Over all I think it sounds good you also want to think about which anti-virus program you will be running on it. Some anti-virus programs take up a lot of room and use a lot to run, so like if you have to run an anti-virus scan with some you would not want to try and run anything else while running some of the anti-virus programs. Also look into a good anti-spy wear program. I use webroot and like it for both spy wear and anti-virus. Well I myself like what it, I would just ask the place that sells it or go and talk to someone who knows about computers who can tell you what things this computer is best for and that it will do everything you will want it to do. Good Luck, it looks like a nice one! =)

Wow! Sweet laptop! The only thing I would do is get Windows Vista off of there. I got it and it's garbage. It crashes all the time and boot up takes eons even when I don't have any programs installed! Get Windows XP or try a Linux distro like Ubuntu. http://www.ubuntu.com/
