Its totally fine, but most want to start on Sunday, so that the days run in occordance with the days on the pack.
Also, one reason to wait until you get your period is to make sure that you are not pregnant when you start taking the pill.
Starting the pill in the middle of your period is fine too.

When did the doctor tell you to start taking the pills?
You should start it on the Sunday after your period starts.

its okay but recommended that you wait until the 1st day of your period. If i were you i would just wait and start then, i mean its only 2 days, also if you wait till then to start it is supposedly effective immediately.. see the packaging for directions :)
