talk about "black culture"? Does that consist of the "hood" and calling themselves "******"? I mean, come on! How do they think Southern whites, at the time, pronounced the "N" word? Definately wasn't pronounced with an "r" at the end. So why do they keep try to "rise above" the white man while all the time they are referring to themselves as "******"? And I am NOT referring to ALL blacks. A few are actually decent people.

I didn't grow up around many black kids...so when I made it to a big city all the stereotypes kicked in, for real!

Thank you 1 <3 zidane, you are the only one that really grasped the meaning to my question! Why anyone would want to call themselves something they don't like is totally beyond me. My comment on the few good ones...none of you will ever know what I've had to deal with. So don't call me racist when I talk about my OWN experiences. Have a good day! :D

i actually agree w/ you. the whole n-word thing is stupid, because you can mispronounce a word all you want but it will still have the same negative meaning, and this is proven when a non-black person says it and they want to fight.
i used to go to school w/ a lot of black people, and many of them were like that, because they never actually realized how stupid it really is, but once it was brought to their attention then many changed. because many people do certain things that they don't realize and the whole n-word thing is like that. but i would not speak to someone again if they called me a ***** or ******, because i am neither, but obviously some people feel as though that is an accurate description of them

I too grew up in a small town, some...people...might not like me for it, but it's me! I might have been sheltered but is that not the best for anyone? Who would want to grow up racist!?! Wow, awesome answer I <3 zidane, I don't see why anyone would want to be called ******...I mean isn't that degrading yourself as a PERSON?!? You are what you make yourself, not what everyone sees you as!!!!!!! I was adopted, I have no idea of what I'm descended from, but if I knew I would DEFINATELY CLAIM IT!!!!

I agree with DJH, if you don't like it go back to europe, since all you know is the negative aspect about Black culture. There is a lotttt of other contributions Blacks have made to this country. but, of course others have lied and claimed them as theirs.

What you are referring to is the negative side of black culture. Every other culture has negatives, but everyone seems to focus on the negative more than the positive when it comes to black people. Whites have a negative side to their culture, and just like blacks it is rooted in ignorance, but I forgot, we're only talking about black culture.

Ugh! You are not civil enough to question Black culture. Seriously, show some respect and learn something or mind your business.
I'm with "He Hate Me", mind your business.

Why do Italian Americans call themselves Italian Americans? When they have probably never been to Italy? Why do Irish American call themselves Irish Americans when they have probably never been to Ireland?
Because they are insane and all Americans are guilty of it.

Wow, you must have literaly lived in a shell growing up. Man I'm tired of people that act like this. Though I'm not trying to say all white people act like this, there are a few decent ones....(you aren't one of them)

"A few are decent people". HMMM....Your just one of those non-racists whose questions are suprisingly VERY racist aren't you?
Which one of these questions is next? "Why can't I use the N-word?", "Why do Blacks have BET?", or "Why is it that when Blacks have something it is normal but if the White man has it, it's racist?"
I just I'm one of those few "decent" people because I'm actually doing you a favor right now.
