It sounds like your doctor did a "stretch and sweep" or membrane sweep while he was doing your exam. That's when he uses the tips of his fingers to brush against the membranes which releases some hormones and can trigger labor.
All the other things you describe are symptoms of the early part of labor. It sounds like you might not need your induction after all! Good luck and I hope you are soon holding your sweet baby in your arms!

If your waters have not broken, or you are not haveing consistant and strong contractions there is nothing a hospital is going to do that you can't do at home.
Keep an eye on your contractions and if you are having a boody show (the mucus plug seperating) though and if you have significant bleeding or your contractions get to be 10 minutes apart start heading for the hospital. If your water breaks go to the hospital regardless of thecontractions or anthing else because now you are at an increased risk of infections and doctors like to keep an eye on you and try to speed things along at that point.
I felt the same urge to go to the bathroom, to vomit and my back killed, all my muscles seemed to hurt when I was in labour. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly for you :)

I'm no doctor, but it's probably from the exam. That's why they stop doing internals when you get close. I would wait for consistent contractions. There's nothing worse than going to the hospital and them sending you back home. But as always, if you feel that bad or just not sure call your doctor-that's what they're there for and its probably his fault anyway! Good luck and congrats!

You mentioned that the doctor did a pelvic exam on you. Did he or she "scrape" your cervix? This is supposed to encourage contractions, and yes it does hurt.
You may want to take it easy, but wait for more consistent contractions. Just make sure to pack your toothbrush! :-)
Good Luck!

the doctor could of been removing your mucus plug and the process should go faster if your water breaks go to the hosp right away. if the contractions get bad enough you'll know when its time to go but for now try a warm shower, that helps speed up the process or walk walk walk i ate hot peppers ha ha i don't suggest that tho

You can call to be safe but that happens when the doc tries "to get things going" as they say. Never worked for me except to start all of the pain you're now experiencing. Congrats and happy trails to you! Enjoy your new little one!
