He is too young to play in the AHL. Against the rules. He is trying to fight it but I think he will lose.

Even if it did happen, the Marlies that is, he still has to go into the draft when he is eligable. If signed to an AHL club, he would not be able to play for that NHL team.

He might as well go to Europe or Russia ... earn a bit of money, then the year after he will go into the draft.

The Leafs tried but failed. The NHL and AHL has stated he has to wait until he's eligible for the draft.

Nope. They NHL won't let it happen. If he's not happy he can go to Europe.
