There is no one American accent.
Personally, I like most of the northern ones, but find the southern ones very hard on the ear. I love the New York accent. Can't stand the Boston accent though.

You sound like a person in an American movie.
It depends on who you ask about how pretty the accent is. I had someone in Wales tell me they thought it was a gorgeous accent; but, most don't have an opinion one way or the other, and some think it makes us sound stupid.
