I'm one of those rare people who does not have any negative reaction to either Poison Oak or Poison Ivy ... which I found out when I was leading a group of hikers and walked right through it ... two people got into it before someone recognized it as Poison Oak ... I was SO SORRY. Now I 'appoint' a 'Poison Oak/Ivy' identifier to walk with me, so I don't hurt anyone else. But I actually think they are both quite attractive plants, and would have had them growing in my yard, except for the fact that all of the kids in the neighborhood played there.

Poison Ivy, cause I could roll in it naked and not get a reaction. Poison Oak on the other hand, all I have to do is be within 20 miles of it, and I swear I'll get it.

Poison-oak leaves and twigs have a surface oil, urushiol, which causes an allergic reaction. Around 15% to 30% of people have no allergic response, but most if not all will become sensitized over time with repeated or more concentrated exposure to urushiol.those who are affected by urushiol, it causes a very irritating rash.

never seen poison oak. Maybe it looks better than poison Ivy though, which is kind of weedy to me...

in california we have both and I have never heard of someone being affected by poison ivy, unless it's eaten, so poison ivy
