Why not torture our enemies when we want to? Other countires do. We might learn something valuable. Why should America not torture bad people who want to do us harm?

If there's nothing wrong with Americans torturing anyone they deem an enemy, then there's nothing wrong with any other nation torturing Americans if they feel justified in labeling America as the "enemy".

If torture is OK with Americans, then it's OK for everyone else. We reduce everything to the lowest common denominator. And if we do that... we may as well throw away Democracy and any aspirations we may have for the development of a humane and equitable world.

We may as well just press the button now.

The argument our military gives is; if we torture, the enemy will be free to torture our troops. And it's been proven that information given under torture isn't reliable.

HELLO...it goes against the Geneva Convention. There are rules and ways of doing things. Oh but wait, this administration hasn't followed ANY rules and you obviously are a Bush supporter, so there is no getting thru to your head.

The US agreed to the Geneva Convention and The Laws of War.

Are we liars?
Is the word of The USA worth nothing?

George Washington did not condone torturing.

That Principal has served our country well over the years.

Nobody deserves to be tortured even if they did harm. It is immoral. But then again, Americans enforce the death penalty...isn't their government a bit hypocritical?

JJ, go look at a history book, the people who wanted the Bill of Rights badly, also are and currently are the ones who use the death penalty the most. Also, I don't know where you get this "immoral" thing, when you probably support on-demand partial birth abortion.
