I know it's highly effective but I was just curious about exactly how effective it really is. Anyone have a %?

Thank you!

IF USED PROPERLY they are about 99.9% effective. However if they are not taken like they should be the percentage goes down. I have been taking the pill for almost 10 years and I have to say that its effective. If you take an antibiotic then you must use protection til you start and new cycle of pills.

It depends on which method of birth control you are using. Each kind has a different % of success rates. IUD's are pretty succesful but everything comes with a side effect. Sometimes the higher the percentage the higher the side effects, and every single method affects different people in different ways. I know this didn't really answer your question, but it's best you do your research.

i went the doctor 2day to see about the pills and they told me 99 % effective ONLY when taken properly, perfect use and that typical use is 97% effective.

However i have read other places it is only 92-98% effective depending on how well you are able to follow the directions..
