I suspect you are asking if the olfactory nerves (smell nerves in the nose) are attached to the brain. Actually, the answer is YES. The skull right on top of the nose (the cribiform palate) is penetrated by the olfactory nerves. This has been in the news lately because 6 people died (maybe more) this year in the USA from amoebic infection which tracks up those nerves into the brain if you swin in infected lakes and get the bugs in your nose. The nose hairs are not connected, and the brain stem is not involved, the stem is in the neck, not the nose.
