...also Rheingold beer [or was it ale?] and Miss Rheingold.. and Ballantine's--3 circles, right? The 'five and dime' palaces were great on Saturdays...egg salad sammich at the counter and cruise the aisles for stuff you could spend your allowance on...
Remember record stores where you could go in a little booth and play a record before you bought it [or not]...and little round boxes of phonograph needles [cheap chromium ones good for only 30 plays, and then the 'diamond tipped' that were supposed to last a lot longer] ...and the bliss of splurging on a whole huge opera record album, which almost took a fork-lift to take home - 6 or 8 big shellac 78's and a cover with all the artists in costume. Somehow downloading to an MP3 doesn't have quite the impact that slogging home with Kirsten Flagstad and Lauritz Melchior clutched to your chest used to have.

Shakey's --fond memories of a few brews with the folks from Vancouver (Bellingham WA Shakeys)
Rustlers Steakhouse - Landover MD, pretty decent chow, Todays Ponderosa is better in my opinion.
Bosco -- A treat as a kid
Nat'l Bo -- decent brew
Not familiar with the rest -- West Coast ?

I remember Magic Pan, Shakey's, and Bosco. Are there no more Magic Pan restaurants? I only ate in one once driving though New Jersey on vacation. I really liked it.

I can't remember any of those. Does that mean I had a super great time during the 60's and 70's.
The reason I say that is because there is a saying that if you remember the 60's, you didn't have a good time. LOL
Now don't anybody take this personal. LOL

I remember all except Shakey's...
I'm assuming it was a chain... In NY there were so many local pizza places, we had no need for chains. I still won't eat pizza from a chain restaurant unless I'm literally starving.
I absolutely _loved_ Wink soda. It was kinda tart-tasting and very refreshing.
"Bosco puts hustle in your muscle. Bosco puts whee in your knee. Bosco puts rockets in your pockets..." (remember the jingle?)

I was just talking about Rustler's with my parent's I used to get the ground steak and smother it with wochestershire sauce. They still have a Shakey's out in L.A., the others I don't know about.
What about the Sunkist "Beach Boys commercials.
