Soup Nazi always has great answers, and again he's right. You shouldn't have any problem with the snail getting along with your Oscar, but as far as the Oscar, I wouldn't trust him. I have Oscars too, but have never tried to put snails in the tank. My first impression would be that the Oscar might not pay to much attention being that the snail moves so slow. But with how curious Oscars are, I defiantly wouldn't put it past him to figure out that he could eat it. Then once he figured it out, no other snail would be safe, he would go around looking for them. Good luck with your Oscar, and so happy to hear about someone keeping an Oscar in an appropriate size tank.

Edit: Hey E J, it's not a weird question, yes I am on that website. It's not my site but I am registered there.

our cichlid ate our snail quite soon after we put it in the tank, just a couple months. And it was a big snail too, about 1 1/2 to 2 inch round shell-- but go ahead and try, never hurts!

If the Oscar ever gets hungry, it would not hesitate at all to eat the snail, but you could keep them together until it does (or until the Oscar can fit the snail in its mouth).

EDIT: The snail won't harm the Oscar either if that's what you're after...

EDIT 3: :~) *smiles*
