Before trying to donate to any Public Libraries, call first and have a list of which books you have. Many libraries have collection policies that do not allow them to use donations in their system, so they'll just go straight to the library book sale. Sometimes, donated books (especially if they are not in good shape, you wouldn't believe what some people 'donate' with bugs and mold and stuff!) can be more of a hardship than a benefit for a library. School libraries and the other mentioned places are generally in more need.

In Arizona, there is this awesome chain of stores called Bookmans which buy, sell, and trade used books. I don't think they have California locations, but I'm sure you have something similar over there. If not, you can try selling on ebay.com or donating to your local library if they accept donations.

we've a place right here in Texas referred to as 0.5 value Books, yet they are going to probable supply you peanuts for them (I bought them approximately 3 packing containers packed with hardcover books and have been given approximately $30). Ebay is in basic terms too a good number of a complication: you will get approximately 50 cents consistent with e book and that's not worth doing all the organizing and transport. Donating them is splendid, till you recognize you have some uncommon variations.

Why don't you donate them to an inner city school library. I am sure they would be very appreciative of the donation.
