Because Liberals and Conservatives tend to choose different professions. If you survey college students you will finds business majors are more conservative than journalism or English majors, and engineers more conservative than those majoring in fine arts. Everyone just takes it for granted that the majority of bankers are Conservative but complain that reporters are on average are Liberals

Most of them have a messiah complex, where they believe they know what's best for everybody, but are themselves above the standard and do not have to adhere to it. And being the liberal democrats are the party of big government, "we know what's best for you, because you aren't smart enough to know so", I'd say this is a big reason why they are lefties. Also, most celebrities are driven by political correctness and constantly worry about offending people and possible fans Considering the liberal democrats again adhere to this PC driven ideology, it's no surprise that celebrities adhere to this as well.
There are many studies that show the ideologies of people in media and celebrities do not share the same values as mainstream Americans. Which is mostly right of center.

Depends what your definition of 'left wing' is. Most media & celebretie's opinions are defined within a very small spectrum and are probaly not fundamentally that different to people with views that could be considered 'right wing'.

I don't think very many are educated. Some, like Brooke Sheilds and Jodi Foster were stars as children and used the opportunity to get a college education. For the most part, Hollywood has a bunch of former waiters and waitressess opining and trying to influence a more educated public.

Well they kind of got no choice i mean look at bush and his republicans they steal elections, start wars for profit, spend our money, tax the poor instead of the rich, prosecute gays while committing these acts in private, molesting little boys, allowing destruction of our cities (Katrina and wildfires), market our children for death, torture people, illegal wiretaps, demolish towers, create terrorist, and the list goes on and on... sheesh you would think our media elites would be "right wing" when the right wing is projecting the images of themselves like this?

Right on all counts.
Actually, teh comparision is valid only with regart to the right-wing" or neocons. Traditional conservatives are very similar to liberals as as far as education, income--and occupational attainment.
The neocons--the so-called "values voters" however, lag inall three areas. Most are basically decent--but are insular, living in tightly bounded social groups and have relatively little exposure to people unlike temselves, or to new or different ideas and cultures.
