Being in a locked room with a car idling. Believe me I know from personal experience. I lost my brother that way. A year ago.....tomorrow.

Hey Elvis, if the car is on, then the inexhaustible supply of fags must also be on (if you're doing the experiment correctly).
Thus, both would pretty much kill you in a similar amount of time.

the smoke from that endless supply of cigarettes, burning continually in a locked room, would kill you more quickly than the car exhaust

Idkkk. Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd say the car because it might take a while for the cigarettes to kill you.

The car. Exhaust fumes do something to the lungs that cannot be repaired. My David told me that, he has a Phd.. He explained it to me, but it went above my head.

I believe your lungs can repair themselves from cigarette smoking though.

the car idling will kill you quicker because you have the choice not to smoke

It depends if the car idling is in gear and the clutch is engaged and you are in front of it.
