Sure! I'm a belly dancer, and I shake mine! I put a diamond stud in it. Belly buttons are awesome!

whilst there appears no obvious use for the belly button, it does sit on a meridian line and the Chinese believe it can interfere with the chi energy of the body if damaged or (pierced) and cause discomfort in other areas of health. As a homoeopath I also agree with this.
A more comical answer is that when you get to heaven at least they know you are not Adam or Eve. Since they were created by God not born of woman, they don't have one.

Why sure there is! I use mine as an extra cell phone holder. And when I'm at the beach stretched out on my blanket and drinkin' a cold one, I use it as a cup holder! . )
