Honesty isn't always the best policy. Sometimes telling the truth can cause more trouble than if you'd just kept your mouth shut in the first place.

not if it's going to hurt someone's feeling's if someone asked me how they looked on a scale from 1-10 and they are ugly would honesty be the best policy to say your a zero?

as a general rule it is, but if know that u r gonna hurt someone badly and it isn't necessary then i see no reason because what one doesn't know won't hurt them.
