Bury it? There is indeed a product used by morticians called Safe Powder (or Safe Aid) that largely neutralizes the odor of decomposition. I have no earthly idea where a person who is not in the funeral business would obtain that product.

Are you building Frankenstein's monster?
You cannot "reduce" the odor, only cover it up. Use candles, etc. I hope there are no surprises in your basement.
