There are so many young people who hate Bush. When I ask them why, they just say he's dumb. I'll ask what makes him dumb and they'll shrug their shoulders and have no answer. They have no answer for anything. I personally respect anyone who makes it to the presidency. I don't care if they're democrat or republican. No matter what president we have, people have problems with them. But it seems to be the mainstream thing to hate Bush. All the celebrities hate him, so all the kids do. No one ever thinks for themselves anymore

I see alot of things I could comment to but Mercer I have to say one thing. Do you have any idea what Sadam was doing to people? He was torturing people TERRIBLY. The things I have seen that he's done to people will stay with me forever.

I asked my step-son about that. His opinion was "Bush sucks", and I simply asked "Why"?

He tried to bring up Iraq, but then I reminded him that Congress approved it.

He tried to bring up Katrina, but then I reminded him that A) Bush didn't control the weather, and B) every level of government from city to federal screwed the pooch on that one.

He tried to bring up 9/11, and I had to explain what "unprecedented attack" meant.

He couldn't bring up any valid reason, but I know he says it because all his friends are saying it.

Well, I'm 33 and I dislike Bush for many reasons. For one thing, he's ignorant about the world around him and he doesn't even care. Before he met the Welsh singer Charlotte Church, he didn't even know where Wales was! Also, he once asked the Brazilian president if Brazil had any black people. And last but not least, he once said something like, "I don't need anyone to tell me what to think, but I do need someone to tell me where Kosovo is." I also hate the fact that the only reason why he became the President in 2000 is because his dad's friends on the Supreme Court handed him the presidency on a silver platter and thousands of Floridians were denied their right to vote in the process. He has started a disastrous war that was based on a lie and given us a record deficit in the process. And last but not least, not only has he failed to capture the main culprit behind the 9/11 attacks (bin Laden), but he has also expressed disinterest in getting justice for the 3,000 people who burned to death in the attacks. In fact, it was only 6 MONTHS after the attacks that Bush said that capturing bin Laden wasn't a priority. As a result, bin Laden is still a free man and the global terrorist situation has been exacerbated, because the war has become a cause celebre among the Islamic fundamentalists and a whole new generation of terrorists is now being bred.

People do not hold themselves accountable for their actions. They can state whatever they want, not knowing if it is true or not and not feel they should try to speak honestly. There is a lack of respect in the country and accountability.
Many people state the US is going downhill, but what are these same people doing to change the way they think things are going? Complaining? It's pathetic, just a whole lot of mouth pieces in the world today with nothing more than words to contribute to anything. Never thought or consideration, thats too much effort.

I hate on Bush because I think he deserves it. He was given a golden opportunity after 9/11 with a majority of the world supporting America and the War on Terror. Then, he squandered it by pursuing a vendetta against Saddam Hussein and Iraq. I've other reasons to hate on him, but I won't bore you with them.

I didn't realize hating on Bush was that popular, but then I hang out with an older crowd (youngest person I hang with is 24). Most of them try to tell me "Bush isn't that bad." I wonder if teenagers' penchance for rebelling against authority adds to the fact that a lot of celebrities hate Bush in influencing what young people think of him.

I agree. Whatever Hollywood says goes as far as most young people go. The only thing I can hope for is that they grow out of it & start thinking on their own. If someone hates Bush or any other president as long as they have a reason (a real one) I will respect it. I may not agree but I would get it. Good question!

We live in a sovereignty which means we are a sovereign country which in turn means we are a sovereign people. Thats the meaning of sovereignty. NUFF SAID. After the presidency, he may have a better career as a stand up comic and go by the name Shiite for brains. But I dont hate him.

"They have no answer for anything."

"All the celebrities hate him, so all the kids do. No one ever thinks for themselves anymore."

Why? Why do that? Maybe they just get tired of listening to people telling them they can't think for themselves. I can think of lots of reasons I disagree with Bush.

Most informed people who dislike him is because he has simply earned it.
To respect him just because he was "elected"...well, in in my memory there has never been technical problems involved with the voting process..but in both times Bush was elected, there have been questionable problems. I strongly believe that Bush, Cheny and Rumsfeld committed a crime by invading the middle east and Iraq, and I believe that the presidential elections were manipulated also.

Do you respect Bush's accomplishment of winning the Presidency in spite of his campaign tactics (as an example in the 2000 South Carolina primaries) or because you have not heard about them.

Well, certainly the young people are not the only ones who "hate" Bush. The young people are very impressionable and usually not as well informed as most of us and "follow" the celebrities of their choice.

Did you ever ask yourself WHY most celebrities are left wingers? It is sorta like the argument that most media are liberal. Well, WHY is that? Are they more educated and more informed and thus are more liberal?
